Welcome to the good life Reuben! 👋 Reuben was rescued from the shelter, sad and shut down. 😥 Now, he is looking to find his forever home! He is around 7 months old and 35 lbs. He is housebroken and crate trained. He alerts his foster when he needs to go out and sleeps all night in his crate.
He has the cutest heart-shaped 💙 nose and is very sweet!
At first, he would just hang out in his crate and peek out. With love and routine, he is becoming more comfortable and starting to explore and show more curiosity. 🥰 When Reuben lets his guard down, he is bouncy, funny and just wants to go, go, go! 🤭 He does puppy zoomies and is starting to play with toys! 🤗 He also does adorable hops while running around! 🤭
Reuben is slow to open up, but he has a lot of potential to be an awesome furry friend with some structure and confidence building. His foster believes he will show more energy as he continues learning to just be a dog in this big world! 😘 His leash skills are a work in progress. With practice, he'll get this. 💪 Does fine with cars, cautious when passing humans.
He does well in cars. He enjoys watching out the window.
Reuben is cautious when eating and can be slow to leave his comfort zone.
He is dog, cat and kid friendly. He adores his human foster sibling and would absolutely love a child in his forever home.
Reuben's forever home will be with someone that will continue to show him all the love and good things this life has to offer!

Additional adoption info
Each pet that is available for adoption is in a foster home for a minimum of 2 weeks after being rescued. This allows the animal to decompress and show their true personality, which in turn helps us find their best match.

Periodically we have adoption events around the greater Rochester, NY area; however, we largely rely on the application process to best match people/families with available pets and then set-up a meet and greet to make sure it's a great match before finalizing the adoption.
