My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Panda! 🐼 This beautiful senior girl is 9 years old and weighs 90 pounds. Panda has had a tough journey, having been abandoned by her previous owner and bouncing in and out of local shelters. 💔 Despite her past, Panda is ready to find a loving forever home where she can truly thrive. 🏡

Panda is mostly housebroken and crate-trained, making her an easy addition to your home. 😋 She’s not a fan of being pulled on a leash and needs gentle encouragement from behind to go outside. Sometimes, she may need a little lift to get out the door or down the steps. 🤭 Panda would do best as the only pet in a quiet home with minimal stairs. She’s a couch dog through and through, loving nothing more than to snuggle up and chew on her bone. 🛋️

Panda needs someone with plenty of time to help her get outside. She’s a bit reluctant at first, but once she’s out and it’s a nice day, she enjoys a leisurely stroll around the yard. ☀️ Panda has hypothyroidism and requires thyroid medication and a joint supplement, and she’ll need regular vet visits to monitor her thyroid levels. Panda’s medications are manageable, with thyroid medicine costing $42 for a 6-week supply and joint supplements at $52 for a 3-month supply. 🩺

Despite her arthritis and past injuries, Panda is a spunky girl with a lot of love to give. 🥰 She’s not an extreme hiking buddy but will make the perfect couch companion. 🐕 If you’re looking for a loyal, loving friend to share your home and heart, Panda is the one for you.

Additional adoption info

Each pet that is available for adoption is in a foster home for a minimum of 2 weeks after being rescued. This allows the animal to decompress and show their true personality, which in turn helps us find their best match.

Go meet their pets

Visit https://operationfreedomride.com/ and click "available pets" to see who is available for adoption.

Periodically we have adoption events around the greater Rochester, NY area; however, we largely rely on the application process to best match people/families with available pets and then set-up a meet and greet to make sure it's a great match before finalizing the adoption.
