Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
We got Walter from the Butte Humane Society in Chico, CA on 3/27/24. Although they estimated him to be just over two years old, the vet that examined him in April 2024 said he is just over one year old (est. birthdate: 1/31/23). He is in excellent health. He has been a fun pet to have--- he is playful, fully potty trained, knows many commands, loves car rides and walks in the neighborhood, and comes when he is called. He got along great with our other older (and larger) dog for the first six months, but recently he has started fights between them. The Humane Society subsequently advised us that he was previously aggressive with a smaller dog. We love Walter a lot, but realize he needs to be in a family without other dogs. He is friendly with all strangers inside and outside our home, including children, and he is playful with other dogs he sees outside. He can't seem to share the attention of his people with another dog in the home.
