My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello there, I'm Prince. I'm an adult dog with a heart full of love and a mind brimming with curiosity. I'm not just a tail-wagger, I'm a thinker too. I love to learn new tricks and I'm always up for a challenge. I'm not just smart, I'm sweet too. I love cuddles and belly rubs. I'm not just a pet, I'm a companion. I'm a friend who will listen to your stories, share your joys, and comfort you in times of sorrow. I'm a bundle of love waiting to be unleashed. I'm not just a shelter dog, I'm your future best friend. Adopt me, not just because I need a home, but because your home needs a Prince.

More about this shelter

Founded in 1971 as the Animal Aid Society of Englewood, Suncoast Humane Society began with a few cages where people left stray animals to be cared for. Over the years, our service area has grown to include over 400 square miles, covering three counties: Sarasota, Charlotte and portions of Lee.
Suncoast Humane Society provides a safe refuge for thousands of lost, abandoned and abused animals from our service area each year. We are committed to our open-door policy of never turning any animal away, regardless of health, temperament, breed or circumstances.
