My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

GENTLE SOUL THAT LIKES A FAIRLY QUIET PLACE AND SWEET GENTLE PEOPLE TO PET HER. GREAT WITH OTHER CATS. PINKY AND FRECKLES ARE A BONDED PAIR AND MUST STAY TOGETHER. NOT DOG TESTED, BUT POSSIBLY OKAY WITH AN EXTREMELY GENTLE DOG. I`m a total sweetie, just timid for a couple of days as I get used to a new place. I`ll find quiet places to go to feel safe. It might be in a covered bed, it might be under a tall sofa, it could also be up high on a shelf or a tall cat tree. I can be found pretty much anywhere! You`ll notice that I`m not afraid of people, I am just nervous about not knowing where I am. I seem to be very comforted when you come spend time with me, even just for a chat, I especially love when you sing to me! I`m soft to pet and enjoy a gentle touch at first. As I get to know you better slow neck scratches are nice! Soon I`ll be coming to follow you and rub on your legs hoping for more pets! Yummy cat treats will be a good icebreaker! I have found a favorite toy with the motion activated electronic toy that moves under a sheet with a butterfly on top (from Amazon). Come enjoy playing with our wand toys with me to help me learn to be brave and have fun in my new home, and with you! A tall cat tree will be awesome! I love sitting way up high. Squishy blankets on the furniture and a big comfy bed will be great for me. Put the bed under a desk or a tall chair at first so it feels like a safe space there. I`ll always look at you with loving eyes, so you know that I`m going to be your adoring fan and always love you!

More about this shelter

The Colony Animal Services strives to protect andTCAS LOGO-UPDATED nurture The City of The Colony’s lost, homeless, abused, injured, and sick pets. We seek to provide animals the opportunity to be reclaimed, adopted, rehabilitated, or rescued. It is the mission for the Animal Service Officers and volunteers to pursue a positive synergy and to serve the citizens and pets of The Colony.

Animal Services is committed to saving each and every animal that comes into our care. Over the last few years, we have improved our live release rate to 97%. We hold our standards high at keeping this percentage, and in doing so, we ask our rescue partners and citizens to help us pursue finding our animals forever homes.

Every year, we get over a hundred injured and sick animals that need our help. In order for us to help them, we use our donated medical fund to give them the proper care and treatment they need. The only way for us to provide this needed medical care is through our generous financial donors. Every penny donated is sent to our medical fund. Please help us continue this much needed medical care for our animals by donating. Even if you cannot donate, it is a huge help to share posts on social media.
