Hello, I'm Hope Derbyshire. I'm a sweet white female with beautiful blue eyes, born around 10/21/23. Coming from Roswell, NM after unexpectedly losing my kittens, I am now just looking for a peaceful, loving home where I can heal and share all the love I have to give. I'm a sweet girl who enjoys being close to my humans. I adore pets and will purr up a storm to show you how happy I am, especially when I get some quiet lap time. I've been comfortable being held, but I still startle easily with quick hands so keep things chill while we're close. I'm not a fan of lots of hustle and bustle around me or being brushed or combed, so if you can respect signals when I need a break, we'll get along just fine! My hormones were still strong at first arrival, so I didn't care for any close proximity with other active cats and younger kittens. I've settled down now with other adult cats who share my room, who also like things to be quiet and serene. I still prefer my human companionship over cat interactions. I like my independence from others and prefer my own space to lay back and relax. However, I do love a good wand toy and will engage in play. A calm, predictable environment with a family with older kids (around 10+ years), would be fine as long as everyone understands that I need a quiet, stress-free space. I think I could do okay with a gentle dog if we are introduced slowly and gradually, following Wild Blue's advice.
