DEC. 1st DEADLINE: Monty is a 5-year-old male neutered Hound mix weighing about 40lbs. He is also up to date on his vaccines. Monty has been part of our family almost all of his life but due to circumstances beyond our control, we are looking for some help for him.
Monty is completely housebroken and requires very little maintenance; approx. 3 walks per day. He loves to run and play, but also appreciates rest and relaxation in our home, of which he has full access. Monty is not at all destructive and loves to play with toys. He loves long walks and exercise.
Monty is selective with other dogs although he gets along with our family friend’s male doodle. If you have a dog, a meet & greet with Monty is suggested. He sometimes though reacts on walks to other dogs he sees. We do not know his reaction to cats.
Monty is very good with older children 8+. We don’t know his reaction to small children but he has not shown aggression or reaction in public on walks, etc.
The best case scenario would be a foster situation whereas we could revisit taking Monty back when we are settled in a new home, which may take some months. If that not feasible, we are hoping that we can place him in a foster to adopt situation rather than a shelter. We are very concerned about his thriving in a shelter environment and would like to avoid placing him in any kind of shelter situation.
We are hoping you can help us as our move date is Dec 1. If you can help us to help Monty, please contact me (April) at areevesmathis@gmail.com - Monty is currently located in Montclair, NJ.
