My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Jax is a spirited, high-energy puppy who’s equal parts snuggle bug and playtime enthusiast! Whether he’s chasing toys or curling up for cuddles, Jax is all about living life to the fullest.

This vocal boy loves to express himself, which means he’s best suited for a home without shared walls (no apartments or condos) to keep your neighbours happy. Jax is expected to grow into a very large dog with all the strength and characteristics of a power breed, so adopters with power breed experience & a solid understanding of their needs and the importance of socializing will be a requirement for him.

Like any puppy, Jax is still learning and will need a family committed to helping him grow into his best self. To ensure his success, adopters must sign him up for three in-person training sessions with a certified positive reinforcement trainer prior to adoption.

If you’re ready for a big, loveable bundle of energy who will fill your home with joy and laughter, Jax might just be your perfect match!

Regularly Exhibited Behaviours Noticed:
- High Energy
- Under-Socialized
- Jumpy / Mouthy
- Nervous / Shy
- Little to no training
- Separation anxiety

Explanation of Behaviours:
- Young puppy that is high energy and needs plenty of attention, training, exercise and enrichment daily.
- Will need to be worked and trained with to improve difficult behaviours such as mouthing and jumping.
- A puppy that can be nervous and shy of new people and environments and will need their new family that will be patient and go slow with them.
- They will need to be socialized a lot in a proper and safe way to help them be set up for success throughout their whole life ahead of them. Puppies need plenty of socialization but this should be done properly. Do not force them into situations but instead encourage them to have a positive experience with new things. Speak further with your trainer to ensure they are being socialized in all the right ways!

This dog would benefit from:
- An active home
- Lots of training
- Lots of time and attention
- Lots of socialization

Training needs/behaviours that need to be worked with for this dog:
- Basic training
- Basic manners - Jumping up and mouthing
- Socialization - including working on nervousness in new environments and situations

Additional adoption info

Come into the Centre and if you see a pet you like, you are able to do a "Meet and Greet" with that pet. Spend some time in alone with the pet or take a dog out for a short walk. If you are still interested in adopting the pet you can meet with one of our Adoption Counsellors who will have you fill out and application and will ask you some questions about the environment in which you live. If you seem like a wonderful match and your envirnoment meets the needs of the pet then your application should be approved!
