My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Diamond is a pretty gal whose favorite pastimes include sitting on the roof, climbing trees and hunting. You could say she's the outdoorsy type. Diamond stays indoors, too, where she enjoys pets especially on the head, stomach, shoulders, actually just about everywhere! She also likes being picked up. Her person's grandkids, ten in all, would visit often. It was just too much for her, so she made a mental note to avoid kids. Diamond has lived with a lot of cats and got along with all but one. Sometimes the chemistry just isn't there. She has no experience living with dogs, aside from climbing the tree when the landlord's dog barred his teeth. Diamond is good when it comes to reading body language. She isn't into playing much and prefers her outdoor adventures. Diamond was a good mom to her kittens, but now she's done with motherhood and is ready to resume a free and easy life. Looking to adopt a gem of a cat? Diamond is the one for you!

If you're ready to adopt now and want to learn more about, meet, or adopt this pet, you can start the process in one of two ways:

Come on in during open adoption hours Tuesday - Saturday 12:30-3:00! For in-shelter pets (not in foster care) coming in ASAP is the fastest way to adopt.

**the below two methods are slower than visiting us**
Call us (413-781-4000 x 1) or email us (springfield@dakinhumane.org) for more information about a pet. We are often on the line with another client, but we return voice mail and emails within 24 hours.

All cat adoption fees include;
-spay/neuter
-rabies vaccine
-current distemper vaccines (may need additional boosters with your veterinarian)
-FeLV/FIV blood test
-microchip implanted & registered to the adopter
-treatment of fleas/ticks/ear mites
-veterinary exam and health certificate at Dakin
-free vet exam within 30 days after adoption with participating veterinarians
Most pets have also received other medical care while with us. Your veterinarian may recommend additional health care for your new pet.
