My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello, I'm Sterling. I'm young and full of life. My days are filled with play, smart tricks, and lots of energy. I'm quite friendly, you know. I love cuddles and will curl up in your lap whenever you need some company. My best friend here is Luan. We've bonded and we're like two peas in a pod. We're always up to some mischief or other. But at the end of the day, we're just two pals looking for a forever home. If you adopt me, you're not just getting a pet, you're getting a friend who'll always be there for you. With me around, your life will never be dull.

More about this shelter

Founded in 1971 as the Animal Aid Society of Englewood, Suncoast Humane Society began with a few cages where people left stray animals to be cared for. Over the years, our service area has grown to include over 400 square miles, covering three counties: Sarasota, Charlotte and portions of Lee.
Suncoast Humane Society provides a safe refuge for thousands of lost, abandoned and abused animals from our service area each year. We are committed to our open-door policy of never turning any animal away, regardless of health, temperament, breed or circumstances.
