Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Misty is a stunning medium-haired calico with soft fur that feels like a dream to pet-and she'll gladly let you! This sweet girl absolutely adores being bathed with pets and affection. While she enjoys being picked up occasionally, she isn't the biggest fan of long cuddle sessions, preferring instead to lounge nearby and keep you company at her own pace.
Misty has a calm and relaxed personality, making her the perfect companion for a quieter home. Though she's low-energy most of the time, she has her playful moments where her inner kitten shines through.
If you're looking for a gentle, low-maintenance friend who enjoys being close but treasures her personal space, Misty might be your perfect match. She's a heartwarming presence who's sure to brighten your days with her quiet charm and affectionate nature.

More about this shelter
The Maryland SPCA connects wonderful pets to loving owners. We are not affiliated with any national animal organization, and we do not receive any government or United Way funding. Our mission is to prevent cruelty and neglect of animals through fostering the humane relationship between animals and people. We operate primarily in the Greater Baltimore Metropolitan area.
To make sure that our dogs and cats do not contribute to the pet overpopulation problem, every one is spayed or neutered before going into a new home. The cost is included in the adoption fee, as are the costs of shots and other necessary care. In addition, a free Positive Pooch class is available to our dog adopters.
There is no set time limit for how long an animal can remain in our adoption program. As long as an animal maintains general good health and a sound temperament, we keep him or her until adopted. We pride ourselves on providing premium care to the animals in a clean, pleasant environment. Our adoption staff works diligently to pair up adopters with the best animal match for their homes and lifestyles.
We transport animals from other shelters to our adoption center to help more animals get adopted. We also help pet owners find new homes for their pets so their animals don’t need to enter shelter care.
