My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Minnie! This Pomeranian blend is 8 years old and weighs just 4 lbs. Minnie may be tiny, but she takes love and snuggles to the max!

  • General Behavior: Minnie is easy to love. She is low maintenance and has a very laid-back personality. Sometimes her foster mother said she is the easiest foster dog she has ever taken care of. She likes to be close to her people, but she’s very independent and can do her own thing, too.

  • Likes & Dislikes: Minnie loves to go on walks and eat snacks! She is very food-motivated. She also loves to be near her people: she doesn’t like to sit on you, but always likes to be nearby. She is not interested in toys and has a somewhat mature personality.

  • Training: Minnie is a little lady! She is housetrained if let out very frequently, walks well on a leash, does very well in the car, and generally has good basic manners.

  • Medical: Minnie is a healthy girl! She just needs her monthly flea and heartworm preventatives, like any dog.

  • Other Animals: Minnie would probably like a furry friend to play with, but does not need one. She is good with other calm, small dogs. She hasn’t been observed around cats, but her foster thinks this gentle girl would get on with them.

  • Children: Due to her tiny size, Minnie needs a home with loving, kind, understanding, older children (ages 8+) only.

  • Home: Minnie rarely barks so she would do fine in a condo or apartment or single-family home.

  • Grooming: As Pomeranian blend, Minnie will need regular brushing and possibly professional grooming, depending on her forever family’s preferences for her coat.

  • Overall: Minnie’s foster describes her as “an extremely nice little girl” who will make a wonderful companion for a loving, laid-back family.

Could Minnie make your home the happiest place on earth? Then visit our website www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org where you will find the application to adopt. You’ll be put in contact with the foster family for more information if it’s a potential match. She is up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and spayed, and she has just had her teeth cleaned.  Her adoption donation is $350.

We are a foster-based rescue organization and do not have a facility. We have all events posted on our website each month.

More about this rescue

Poodle and Pooch Rescue is a 501(c)3 non profit organization that saves dogs that truly need help. We rescue the "leftovers" from animal control, the dogs nobody wants because they're older or suffer from neglect, abuse or have a medical need. Their "last" day becomes the first day of their new life. We provide the veterinary care they need, a foster family they love and when they're ready, we adopt them to a family who cherishes them. We do not have a physical shelter because every dog lives with one of our foster families. We are all volunteers so your tax-deductible donation goes directly to help the dogs. We have saved over 5,500 dogs since 2008.
