My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Hatch Date:  2018

Mr. Mango is an approximately 6 y/o male cockatiel.
As you can see from his pictures, he is extremely handsome!

He has been an only bird for his whole life.
Currently at his foster home, he tolerates having other birds around, but in separate cages only.
He is still getting used to interacting with other birds.
All of a sudden he will just bust out into a beautiful song, as he is also learning his voice.

He loves looking out the window and has just started discovering the toys in his cage.
He is looking for a wonderful family to love him and work with him on hand training.

We think he has potential, however, it will be a long road ahead before that happens,
so a family with lots of patience and understanding is a plus.
There can also be no dogs or cats in the home.

Mr. Mango is currently on a strict pellet diet, which he has acclimated to beautifully.
He also has been vetted disease tested, and given a clean bill of health.

Mango is being fostered in Hillsborough, NJ, and will only be adopted to a forever home within driving distance.
We will NOT ship our birds.
For the Love of Birds is a group of dedicated foster homes throughout NJ and Eastern PA
We do not have a central location.
Mango is living in a volunteer's private home; we only allow approved applicants to make visits.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

The adoption procedure begins with completing an adoption application and returning it to us. We will check your references and then call you for a telephone interview. While we check your references, we will ask that you review an educational power point presentation. After your application is approved, it is our policy that you visit with the bird(s) three times to have multiple interactions with them and give you time to consider the adoption and get ready for your new family member. There is an adoption fee for each bird.
