My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Charlie is a sweet tabby kitten with beautiful white mittens - a delightful boy. He was rescued from a managed colony in Queens with three of his siblings. Charlie is loving and gentle; he purrs and winks. He may be shy at first but he loves to be held and head butts like a champ. His foster says he has the most variety of meows she’s ever heard as if he has many cats inside him. Charlie is obsessed with food and you may think he has a hole in his tummy. He plays well by himself with interactive toys and with other cats too. He loves to play chase with his foster brothers and sister. Charlie could be a particularly good companion to someone with an adult cat. He would benefit from having an older cat to keep teaching him cat manners and would be fun for a cat who’d like a friend. He’s such a doll. Charlie was born around 02/28/2024.

Additional adoption info

Once you've filled out an application, we will contact your references and put you in touch with the foster/caregiver of the cat. Once your application is approved, we schedule you to attend a Zoom group seminar on cat care. We invite both novice and experienced alike to attend. Then you would sign the adoption agreement, pay the adoption fee, and make arrangements for the cat to be moved to your home. We always do a home visit which is both reassuring to the cat when it is being introduced and to the foster who has taken care of the cat. Presently we are doing home visits with FaceTime or Zoom to confirm you have secure windows, no toxic plants and a generally safe environment for a cat. The adoption fee is $150 for one cat under 7 years old, $75 for one cat 7 years and older.

All cats have been tested for the Feline Leukemia and FIV virus, vaccinated (FVRCP and Rabies vaccines), microchipped, dewormed and spayed/neutered. If you adopt kittens that are too young to be altered, we will arrange the spay/neuter/microchip at a later date at a partner vet.

More about this rescue

Anjellicle Cats Rescue is an all-volunteer registered 501c3 cat rescue committed to helping make New York a no-kill city. As one of the most active cat rescues in the 5 boroughs, ACR is dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating and adopting out homeless cats and kittens, many of which are sick, injured or dismissed as unadoptable. Through a coalition of volunteer advocates and caregivers, each rescued cat is welcomed with kindness and medical care into a foster home with the goal of adoption into a permanent, loving home.
