My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

A SWEET AND AFFECTIONATE GUY:  Approx. 8.5 months old  / Approx. 9 lbs.

Hi, my name is Blaze!  I originally came to Mostly Mutts with my siblings – all of us in need of good homes.  I, along with my siblings, were all adopted.  Unfortunately, I returned to Mostly Mutts FIV positive.  FIV is not contagious in a usual living environment, and I can live with other nice kitties as long as we all get along! (FIV CAN be transmitted thru a deep bite to another kitty but NOT by sharing bowls/litterboxes or grooming each other).

• OTHER CATS/DOGS/KIDS:  I have not met other cats in my foster home, though I came to Mostly Mutts several months ago as part of a fun litter!  I may enjoy another kitty in my home, so if you have a nice kitty at home already, let’s meet! / Dogs unknown / Children in my new home may be nice, since I am a playful kitten, but best they are gentle and know how to handle a kitten, and – of course, let’s meet!

• PERSONALITY INFORMATION:  My foster says I am a social and super well-adjusted kitty.  I settled right away into my foster home and was not shy at all. I take daily eye drops and am relaxed and calm for those, which is great news!  I’m playful and affectionate with a natural kitty curiosity - ready to bring lots of love to my new home.

• SKILLS/LITTER TRAINED STATUS:  I keep my area clean, as I am litter trained.

• LIKES/DISLIKES:  A social kitty, I like to be near people but not necessarily on a lap.  I enjoy exploring my surroundings and am perfectly fine with being picked up and cuddled. Sitting in the window seat to survey the world and chasing the ball in the circular track are great fun for me. / I can’t think of any dislikes since I am a kitten, but I would not be happy if I did not get the love and attention all kitties deserve!

• MEDICAL:  I’m up to date on my kitten shots, neutered, and microchipped.  I have dry eye, and FIV is the likely culprit for my eye issue, so daily lubricating drops are necessary and may progress to a prescription drop.  It is important that my immune system stays as healthy as possible, so Lysine supplement powder sprinkled on my food will be a must for me for the rest of my life.

I am looking for a wonderful home where I will be a much loved family member!  My adoption fee is $175.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.

Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue & Adoption's Adoption Process

Our facility is currently open to the public Monday-Saturday, 11-3. We welcome you to come meet our adoptable Mutts & Kitties! Please keep in mind the following:

Many of our adoptable Mutts & Kitties are in foster homes, so please call 770-272-6888 to find out if the pet you are interested in is at our facility. With an approved application we can set up meet & greets and adoptions with a pet in foster care.
We are not yet up to full ‘staffing’ following the pandemic, so there may be times when we cannot do meet & greets or process an application on the spot.
The best first step is to submit an application via www.mostlymutts.org.
Our adoption counselors are happy to help make a great match for you and your family!

Adoption Info:
Please submit an application through our website at www.mostlymutts.org if you are interested in one of our adoptable pets. We are receiving a large volume of applications and processing may take a little bit longer than normal. Who We Are:

Mostly Mutts is a 501(c)3, non-profit organization, staffed almost entirely by volunteers!

Our Mission is to help the Unwanted, Abandoned, Abused and Sick animals in our local counties. We fulfill this mission by working closely with County Animal Control Facilities, saving those who are in imminent danger of euthanasia, or those with needs which require specialized vet care that many other groups will not consider: major orthopedic issues, heartworm positive treatment, skin conditions, neglect and abuse
