My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

SWEETNESS & CUDDLES:  Approx. 3 years old  / Approx. 22 lbs.

Hi, my name is Clara!  I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control.  The volunteers took great care of me at the shelter and now I’m in a wonderful foster home having a good time!  I’m ready to find my furever family, so if you’re looking for a sweet dog, I could be the one!

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I like the dog in my foster home, it just took a little time for me to get comfortable with her.  Now we play rough-and-tumble together, so if you have a nice dog at home already who would like a playmate after we have a get to know you period, let’s meet! / I’m not the least bit interested in the older cat in my foster home, so if you have a kitty that doesn’t mind coexisting with a dog, we could do well together. / I have not officially met kids in my foster home, but they think that I would likely do well with gentle children. So, if you have kids like this, let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over!

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  Even though I was a bit shy at the shelter, I did show my cuddly side and gave lots of kisses to the nice volunteers who came to spend time with me. I’m a super sweet, somewhat shy girl who has a gentle and affectionate nature. I’m pretty laid back, though I do get cases of the zoomies in my foster’s backyard.  I  am  what my fosters say is cautiously social and very much a people dog who wants to be wherever my fosters are.  I may alert you to sounds I hear or people coming in the door, just to make sure you are aware!  / My energy level has increased to 4-6 in my foster home as I’ve gotten used to the environment.

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I am a pretty smart gal and know several commands: ‘sit’, ‘no’, and ‘come’ and I’m working on ‘quiet’ now. I also have good leash manners when I’m out on short potty walks with my foster sister.  I bet you can teach me even more! / I enter my crate to nap and hesitantly on command when my foster parents take short trips away from home. However, I sleep in bed at night with my foster parents and their dog.  I hope I can do the same with you! / I’m still learning good potty habits in my foster home.  There have been some accidents, as my cues to go out can be subtle, so look for those and keep me on a good schedule, so I can master my potty manners.

• LIKES/DISLIKES:  There is nothing I love more than being with my people.  My foster parents are home a good bit, and I would love a stay-at-home or work-from-home family member in my new home, too.  Fall is a fun time for me, as I loved playing in the leaves while exploring and running zoomies in the back yard with my foster sister, so a fenced yard where we can spend time together would be wonderful.  As mentioned, I am a people dog who loves to follow my foster parents wherever they go and relish cuddling on the couch. When inside, I am a lap dog – 100% of the time.  I am starting to have an interest in toys and chew bones as well, but my top choice is always to play with my people. / Unfamiliar sounds or sudden noises startle me, so I will need a patient family to support and comfort me as I adjust to my new environment with them.  Otherwise, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, and training.

• MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed.

I am looking for a loving home with a great family for life!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.

Who We Are:

Mostly Mutts is a 501(c)3, non-profit organization, staffed almost entirely by volunteers!

Our Mission is to help the Unwanted, Abandoned, Abused and Sick animals in our local counties. We fulfill this mission by working closely with County Animal Control Facilities, saving those who are in imminent danger of euthanasia, or those with needs which require specialized vet care that many other groups will not consider: major orthopedic issues, heartworm positive treatment, skin conditions, neglect and abuse
