My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Kyra – A Loving Companion Ready for Her Forever Home

Kyra is a beautiful and affectionate cat with a gentle soul, searching for a family who will give her the love and patience she deserves. Unfortunately, Kyra was returned to DCS Feline Fixers after her first adopters decided they could not give her the time and understanding needed to follow the 3-3-3 Rule.

The 3-3-3 Rule is essential for any cat adjusting to a new home, and Kyra will take it very seriously:

3 days to decompress and get used to her new surroundings,
3 weeks to begin feeling comfortable and building trust,
3 months to fully settle in and feel like a true member of the family.
Kyra has also been treated for a condition that, while improving, may require occasional treatments throughout her life. There’s a chance it could resolve completely, but it’s important to be prepared for her ongoing care needs. Despite this, Kyra remains a happy, sweet, and loving girl who doesn’t let it slow her down.

With time, patience, and understanding, Kyra will reward her new family with unconditional love, playful moments, and plenty of gentle cuddles. She is a special cat looking for a special family who can give her the second chance she truly deserves.

Could you be the forever family Kyra has been waiting for?
Kyra thrives best in a calm, single-cat household without young children, where she can feel safe and secure. The 3-3-3 rule of adopting cats—giving them three days to decompress, three weeks to settle in, and three months to fully adjust—will be key to helping Kyra feel at home.

This patient and understanding approach will allow Kyra to reveal her loving and loyal nature, making her the perfect companion for someone who values trust and connection. If you can offer her the time, patience, and love she deserves, Kyra will reward you with her heart and unwavering companionship.

More about this rescue

We obtained our 501(c)(3) two years ago, but I – Char started rescuing four years ago. With Sharon’s help we were able to take in several cats and kittens the first year to be vetted, fixed and adopted. Three years ago Debbie volunteered to help me with TNR program for MGCHS. After Debbie and I teamed up on the TNR program our collection of cats has escalated. Between the 3 of us and with the help from our volunteers and donations we seem to be able take care of all their needs.
