After sharing a lifetime together in a home with a loving family and a devoted sibling, Harvey lost everything when both his owner and sister passed away in rapid succession. Entering Bianca’s Furry Friends is a very different experience than anything he could have expected, but being offered a quiet place to work out his feelings has opened his heart to appreciating the kindness of our Animal League America Family. While Harvey has never known anything beyond the safety of his home, he’s shown us a stoic resilience with gratitude for the companionship we offer him. His young roommates are a curiosity to him, but it’s the humans showering him with love who give him the greatest boost to his confi- dence. We’re hoping someone special will recognize how worthy Harvey is to be back in a quiet home, one with older children, luxuriating in the peace of a golden retirement.

When you come down to NSALA an associate will help you figure out what kind of animal will do best in your situation. At that point they will take out the animals you are interested in so that you may get to know them. You will have plenty of time to play and interact with your new friend in our family friendly areas designated for that purpose. When you decide you want to adopt, an associate will help you fill out an application.

Our adoption fees are as follows:
Puppies (up to 6 months) $350
Adult Dogs (over 6 months) $100
Puppy Mill Rescues $250
Small Breed & Pure Breeds (over 6 months) $250
Kittens (up to 6 months) $100
Double Kittens $150
Adult Cats (over 6 months) $50
Double Adult Cats $75

Where applicable, a $50 Spay/Neuter deposit is required for kittens, $75 for puppies.

Our Adoption Center, is open every Thursday-Sunday 12pm-8pm. On average, our shelter is home to 350 dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens. Behind the scenes, the Adoption Center contains a nursery area, medical examination room and a grooming area where new admissions are health checked, vaccinated, bathed and groomed.

Visitors are reminded that adoption is a lifelong commitment. After selecting a pet, each potential adopter is thoroughly screened, ensuring each adopter recognizes the life-changing commitment a new pet can be. To date, over 1,000,000 pet owners have met our high standards and adopted a pet from North Shore Animal League America.
