My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

*Name:* Alana (formerly known as Thelma) the Shy Superstar
*Breed:* Lab/Staffordshire Terrier Mix (also known as the "Cuddle Monster")
*Age:* 3 Years, 11 Months, 3 Weeks (but who's counting? She's forever young and brings joy to everyone around her!)
*Weight:* 33 lbs (a perfect size for all the cuddles and adventures!)
*Color:* White/Golden (the perfect canvas for her "artistic" muddy paw prints, which she proudly displays after every outdoor escapade)
*Health Status:* HW-, Spayed, and up to date on vaccinations (she’s got her health card ready for the next doggy spa day, ensuring she stays pampered and healthy!)

*Sweet and Shy: The Perfect Companion* Alana is the epitome of sweetness and shyness wrapped in a furry package. With her big soulful eyes that seem to hold a universe of love, she captivates everyone around her. Alana has a gentle demeanor and a heart full of affection, making her a professional napper often found curled up in the coziest spots in the house, dreaming of her perfect forever home. After losing her previous home, Alana was a little shut down and unsure of her surroundings when she returned to the shelter. However, when she got her freedom ride to her foster home, her spirit blossomed, and she expressed her gratitude in every wag of her tail.

*Living with Love: A Family-Friendly Dog* - *Lived with Kids:* Alana has had positive experiences with children, demonstrating her patience and gentle nature. She enjoys their company and often seeks out their attention and affection, making her a great companion for families. - *Good with Cats:* While Alana has previously lived with cats and shown her gentle nature towards them, she isn’t currently living with any. She approaches feline friends with curiosity and respect, making her adaptable to multi-pet households if introduced properly.

*A Journey to Find Home: Resilience and Hope* Alana was adopted from Memphis Animal Services (MAS), where she captured the hearts of those around her with her adorable personality. Unfortunately, she was returned due to her previous human claiming they had “too many dogs.” This unexpected turn of events has only fueled her determination to find her true forever home. She made the Urgent list like a true drama queen, showcasing her ability to stand out even in challenging circumstances. After being rescued, she bounced back to her foster home like a champ, displaying resilience and a hopeful spirit.

*Social Butterfly: Recent Encounters* On 11/16/24, Alana met another dog and showcased her social skills. Although she was initially cautious, she was tolerant of the other dog's presence. Alana prefers to take her time getting to know new friends, often observing before deciding how to engage. “Hey there, I see you, but I’m more into me right now,” reflects her independent spirit.

*Special Skills: Talents That Shine* - *Expert in the "I'm just going to sit here and look adorable" pose:* Alana has mastered the art of cuteness, often catching the attention of everyone around her with her big soulful eyes. - *Professional couch potato and snack enthusiast:* She has an impressive talent for turning any moment into a snuggle session, making her the perfect companion for lazy afternoons. - *Creative spirit:* Alana's playful personality shines through in her antics, making every day an adventure filled with joy and laughter.

*The Royal Quest: Finding Her Forever Family* Alana is on a heartfelt quest to find a home where she can reign as the queen she truly is. She dreams of a family that understands her shy nature and is willing to provide her the love and patience she needs to flourish. If you can handle a shy superstar with a heart of gold and a love for snacks, she’s your girl! Alana promises to bring all the love, loyalty, and none of the drama (unless it’s snack time). She is ready to fill your home with joy, cuddles, and countless memories as you embark on this beautiful journey together.

I am in Bartlett, TN near Memphis, but can be transported to other locations for the right home. Please note, there is a transport fee.
