Elena is a kitten who likes things her way, as well as play, affection, and attention, and we are all happy to oblige!
ABOUT ELENA: -At shelter -Kitten, domestic shorthair (tortie), female -Elena arrived from another shelter with her siblings, Damon and Stefan. -Kittens, like Elena, have lots of energy! -Elena enjoys playing, but on her terms. She will engage with wand toys if they are brought to her and will back off if one of her kitten roommates gets to the toy first. -Elena is slowly gaining confidence being around humans. -Elena is currently enrolled in EHS`s socialization program, where dedicated volunteers are working to help Elena become more comfortable around people. -When approached calmly and gently, Elena welcomes pets. She particularly likes chin rubs and will reward people with purrs. But, if approached too quickly she’ll likely run away, or perhaps offer a hiss and little swat. -Elena is spayed, microchipped, dewormed, flea-treated, SNAP-tested for FIV/FeLV, and is up to date on core vaccinations.
ELENA’S IDEAL HOME: -Kittens require ample and mindful stimulation, through play, from their humans. -It is important that Elena either go to a home where there is already a feline-friendly cat in residence, or be adopted with one of her siblings or another compatible shelter animal. -A skittish cat will benefit from a calm, quiet environment, preferably without small children. -Potential adopters should be prepared to commit the time, effort, and patience required to help Elena settle into her new environment. EHS will provide post-adoption support to assist Elena with a successful transition to her forever home.
Winning the heart of a cat is one of the greatest joys. Will you be the one who Elena chooses? Come visit her at EHS today to find out!
