Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Bunny is a sweet little 14-week-old pitbull puppy with so much personality!
Her story starts when she was brought into an emergency vet hospital by a family that stopped after seeing her hit by a car. She was very lucky that the only injury she suffered from was a broken right back leg--even though the vet had to remove the leg. Although she is a tripod now, but that hasn't stopped her from living life to the fullest. When Bunny first came to her fosters' home, she was shy and nervous; but she's since blossomed into a friendly and affectionate dog, especially around people and other dogs. She would do best in a home with other dogs to help keep her from being lonely.
Like most puppies, she is working on potty training--she is doing well as long as you stick to a schedule. Bunny is very food motivated and already knows commands including her name, sit, kennel, and she’s working on stay, come, walking on leash, and lay down. Bunny is crate trained and sleeps in there at night and when no one is home. We do leave music or the tv on for her to help her feel comfortable in her kennel. She also does great for baths and car rides.
Bunny has an amazing personality--she is goofy, snuggly, and so happy. She loves laying in the sun and playing with her foster boxer and pitbull "siblings". Her favorite part of her day is playing with other dogs. She can be persistent about playing, but does listen to other dogs' cues when they are done playing. She has also started to really enjoy fetch but is still getting the hang of it. After she is all tired out she loves to cuddle up next to you. She is sure to be a great addition to her furever home!
** Please note ** Bunny will be spayed by our vet when age-appropriate, which is included in the adoption fee.
Are you interested in adopting this dog or another JCAPL pet you have seen? You'll need to start by completing an adoption application, available online at our website: www.jcapl.org. There is no obligation to adopt by completing an application, however, we do recommend submitting an application as soon as you find an animal you are interested in. We review applications in the order they are received.
Completed applications can be submitted online, or sent via email to adopt@jcapl.org, faxed to 919-300-5524 or delivered in person by visiting us at one of our adoption events on Saturdays at PetSmart in Garner’s White Oak Shopping Center. We will contact you as soon as possible once we receive your application.
Thanks for thinking adoption!

CATS and KITTENS: Our adoptable cats & kittens are at the Luv-A-Pet Centers at PetSmart, White Oak in Garner and in PetSmart Goldsboro).
Cats can be seen during regular store hours by asking a manager or by appointment with JCAPL. On Saturdays between 10am and 2pm, JCAPL volunteers bring additional cats and kittens to the Luv-A-Pet Center at the Garner location.
We do rotate our cats and kittens regularly so if you see a cat or kitten online, but do not see them at Petsmart, they are most likely taking a break at their foster home. Please feel free to contact us if you have questions about the adoption status of a specific cat or kitten.
DOGS and PUPPIES can be seen at the PetSmart at White Oak Shopping Center from 11:00 am until 2:00 p.m. on Saturdays, or by appointment with individual foster homes.

More about this rescue
We are the Johnston County Animal Protection League (JCAPL). We are a 501 (c)(3) non profit, founded in 2001.
Our primary function and purpose is animal advocacy and to promote animal welfare, in all its aspects.
We do rescue and adoptions, outreach (providing low cost spay/neuter); and education.
We are unpaid volunteers, but we continue to try and fill the void wherever we see the need, and we do it because the need is great and the animals are innocent in all the crimes and abuses against them.
