Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Ziggy! Ziggy was originally with Tiny Paws Small Dog Rescue last year when he was a 2 month old pup and adopted in December of 23. He is a mix of Australian Shepherd and Golden Retriever! He was returned to the rescue last week Thursday.
The original adopter says that he jumped up on her oldest child and nipped his ear which caused an injury. Ever since, her kids have struggled to bond with him.
What I see in Ziggy now that he's back in Rescue with me:
Ziggy is gentle and SO SO SO well behaved! He knows all basic commands- sit, stay/wait, down, shake. He doesn't always like to come inside when called. He also needs work with leash pulling, but a good harness would probably do the trick.
He is housebroken and has freedom to go wherever he wants in the house. Does lay on furniture and also likes to sleep in my bed. I have not seen any destruction or chewing of any kind.
Original adopter says good with cats but has not been socialized with other dogs since he was with his previous adopted family. Ziggy is doing pretty good with his foster siblings. Working on boundaries if there are treats outside and he doesn't have one.
Ziggy is also wonderful with my 7 year old. Previous adopted family says good with kids. I would agree. I don't have any concerns with Ziggy and kiddos. Thinking the incident mentioned may have been a puppy just being a pup.
Ziggy's DOB is 10/7/23
He is neutered and appears to be up to date on vaccines. Will need to confirm.
This is the perfect trained young pup!!
He is available soon (pending vetting) with an adoption fee of $550 Please fill out an application if you are interested on the Tiny Paws website at www.tinypawssmalldogrescue.org

More about this rescue
Tiny Paws Small Dog Rescue was born out of my love for small dogs and desire to help those in need, and in memory of the loss of a dear family member. Dealing frequently with small breed puppies and retired breeder moms, we strive to find homes that are aware of the commitment to raising a small breed dog and to the patience needed in socializing and housebreaking a retired breeder mom who has no idea what life in a home is all about. We are foster home based and are always looking for new foster homes to help us continue our love of rescuing dogs in need. We are happy to assist in owner surrender placements, especially those in need of surrendering their small dogs due to financial hardships, loss of a loved one, or dog owner entering assisted living facilities or nursing homes. We pride ourselves with a thorough search for that perfect home for a dog in need and follow up with phone calls to ensure things are going well. Tiny Paws will take back an adopted dog should the need arise within a reasonable notice and an available foster home has an open spot. Our goal is to someday own a building to house even more canine companions in need. We look forward to helping you find your family pet.
