My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Korra, Korra is the sweetest girl but she has been through a lot. I first met Korra is 2020 after pulling her from an intake shelter in Texas. Korra went to her forever home but because of change in living situation she is looking for her forever home. Korra and I have crossed paths a couple of times whether it be for me fostering her or dog sitting. She is a special girl and I am determined to find a special home for her. Korra has some quirks, mostly because I don't know her story before 2020, but also because since then her life has changed so much. I mean I forced her to travel from Texas to Chicago just to ensure that she had somewhere familiar to go and could find a home that fits her best. Things to know about Korra: Korra needs to be an only dog. Hear me out though, she has interest in dogs and definitely tries her best but then she gets confused and uncomfy and doesn't really know what to do. With that being said, going on a walk in the park with other dogs is totally fine because she focuses on you but she isn't your off leash dog park kind of gal. She is also very weary of men. She gets nervous and will bark. I have watched her let her guard down and give men a chance but they need to meet her where she is at and go at her own pace. She is excellent on walks and really listens to her person. She is crate trained and potty trained. She is wonderful with children. She enjoys to go out and explore but she is also so content being at home laying on the couch watching a movie with you. She is the easiest foster I have ever had. She has her quirks but they are so easy to navigate through if you are the right fitting home for her. Korra is available for adoption within 3 hours of Chicago. If you have any questions before applying please email adopt@chicagorescueauthority.org. Signed, Serenity, the foster mom who loves her more than life itself but has too many dogs to keep her myself but will keep her happily until that fit comes. <3 If you are viewing from adopt-a-pet to be considered a potential home for this dog please head to our website www.chicagorescueauthority.org and click on our adopt tab to apply directly!

Additional adoption info

Every dog is different: personality, temperament, energy, comfort with kids and other animals, medical needs and more. We take all these factors into consideration when making a forever-home match. We are careful about the placements we make. We do our best to match the right dog with the right adoptive home because we want this to be the pet’s permanent home. These steps ensure that we have all the information needed to make the best placement for you or your family.

More about this rescue

At Chicago Rescue Authority, our mission is to create a compassionate world where every animal is treated with love, respect, and dignity. We are dedicated to educating the public about the adverse realities of the mass-production industry for puppies, raising awareness about responsible pet adoption and ownership, and actively working towards reducing the overpopulation of dogs in shelters.

Our promise to Chicago is to build our rescue on the tenets of teamwork, education and compassion. We will listen to the concerns and ideas of those around us and be ready to grow alongside this rescue and this mission.

Volunteers, fosters, donors and adopters will be the backbone of this organization, just like every other animal welfare non-profit. We will be hosting a variety of fundraisers and mixers throughout the year aimed at building our support network. We can’t wait to meet all the animals whose lives we are going to change!
