My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Mello is an affable and affectionate cat who likes to hang with his family without being a bother. Mostly deaf, Mello likes to chirp, purr, and hum to himself. He uses vibrations to tell where his owners are, though sometimes you can sneak up on him and give him a surprise hug. He likes being carried, rubbed on the chin, and finding new hiding places and cozy spots. This boy is an explorer.

Above all else, Mello loves his Boba Tea plush toy. Watching Mello with his Boba Tea plush toy is like watching an artist at work. Like a talented freestyle skateboarder, Mello palms the Boba toy, switches it from one paw to the next, shovel passes it to himself, slides it back and forth under obstacles, and chases it down. Sometimes he will play fetch with it like a dog. (The Boba Tea plush toy is included when you adopt Mello—it would be cruel to deprive him of it.)
At night he will find space on the bed where he doesn’t interfere with his owner’s sleep. If he can’t find any space, he’s content leaving the bed and going somewhere else. He is a thorough self-cleaner and aims well in the litter box. He sometimes gets lost in a daydream or snoozes the afternoon away on a backpack. He is tolerant of being picked up and likes being given a periodic tours of your home. Sometimes he likes it when you hold him over your head with one hand like a basketball.

Mello quickly forgives you for giving him yucky medicine or for squeezing him too tight (especially if treats are involved). He needs a bit of Doxycycline every night for his pillowfoot, but this condition does not diminish his quality of life or mobility at all. He is mysterious, scampering around at random hours, chasing invisible objects, and switching up his routines each day. Hopefully, you’ll get to enjoy the wonders of his everyday discoveries alongside him. And if we didn’t stress it enough above, you really don’t want to miss seeing him with his Boba.
