Missy

See this sweet looking Lab mix? She is the dog you see. Cattle dog and Lab, Missy is just nice! She is so good with the pack it's hardly worth mentioning. She just fits in everywhere.

Missy is about 1 yr old. And she was spayed right after she got here and a good thing she was caught when she was, she was in heat when I got her 2 days ago. No puppies ever for her. She may have been a Central Valley stray, but she won't be a statistic! Her timing was impeccable.

Missy is great in my house. And she so wants to be part of a family! I hate having to put her in the dog run at night, but they can't all stay in the house...

Missy would do well in a family, or as someone's 'go everywhere' shot gun rider. She is just mellow! I don't think she has had much experience in a vehicle, it was a learning experience getting her in the van, and then the car. But she's got the hang of it now!

great on a leash. Which is important for a dog her size. Missy is 53 lbs, tall and in great shape. So I appreciate her sensitivity to a correction on leash, a tug, and she looks up to check in. Gentle girl!

Central Coast Border Collie Rescue (CCHDRescue) is dedicated to helping find homes for Border Collie, Australian Shepherd, Australian Cattle Dog/Queensland Heeler, Australian Kelpie, and other herding breeds and mixes. This site lists dogs in shelters as well as dogs in homes and foster care, and is intended to help adopters seeking good dogs, and dogs seeking loving homes. 7

Why we do it: Herding dogs are not for every one. Too many adopters get these dogs as status symbols only to find out, their life style doesn't meet these high energy dogs needs. As a result, these wonderful misunderstood dogs wind up in shelters. We understand what drives these dogs, we can place them appropriately.
