Scoot! Scoot McPoots! Scooter is a little doll of a dog clocking in at 9 lbs and 1 year old. He was found as a stray in south Dallas by a news crew reporting on a crime and evaded all humans until his now-foster mom’s best friend drove down there and lured and scooped him up. Scooter LOVES humans that he trusts, is licky and kissy, and amazing snuggler, and a 9 lb guard dog! Scooter will tell you if anything is going on with a bark and is the smallest but first to volunteer to go outside in the night to ward off predators from his foster’s flock. Scooter is being fostered in Dallas with several other dogs, chickens, ducks, and rabbits. Scooter cannot be loose with rabbits as he does have a prey drive. His foster mom suspects he’s a mix of miniature poodle and some sort of terrier.
Scooter remains scared of a leash, and is trying to work on leash training. While potty trained if allowed outside when needed (crated when foster is not home), he was recently neutered and is still ridding his body of the marking hormone. He seems to be improving in this area every week! Scooter is an absolute love who, once he trusts you, adores his person/people, lives to snuggle and kiss them, and is such a delight. Scoots is young with perfect white teeth. He deserves and is available to the best home where he will be a treasured and well-cared for family member for his life.
To set up a meet and greet or inquire about a dog, please first fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/adopt It doesn`t obligate you, but it is the first step. We don`t get to all of the inquiries but respond to all applications. Thank you for choosing to rescue!
