My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Nia, a feline with a heart as big as her personality. She`s an adult cat with a unique blend of shyness and independence, a combination that makes her truly one-of-a-kind. Nia is the type of cat who loves her solitude, yet has a sweet disposition that shines through once she gets comfortable. She may take a little while to warm up, but once she does, her sweetness is undeniable. Nia`s independent streak means she`s perfectly content with some alone time, making her a great fit for those with a busy lifestyle. Her shy nature, however, means she would thrive best in a quiet, calm environment. Nia is looking for a forever home where she can be her sweet, independent self. Adopt Nia, and you`ll have a loyal friend who will give you all the space you need, but also be there with purrs and headbutts when you need some comfort.

More about this shelter

We are an open admissions shelter, meaning we take in homeless animals regardless of age, breed, health, temperament or lack of space. On average, we take in about 5,500 stray, surrendered and abandoned animals per year including dogs, cats, small mammals, birds and reptiles. We provide adoption services to find safe, happy homes for these pets; and also provide low-cost vaccination and microchip clinics to help safeguard them against illness or being lost forever.
