My name is River!

River is a very sweet 5 year old Hound Mix. My wife and I found her wandering our neighborhood, looking scared and hungry. We took her to the Cobb county animal shelter to see if anyone would claim her. While at the shelter, the officer informed us they had her sister in custody as well. Apparently someone called about 2 dogs running the neighborhood and they only were able to capture one. We decided to adopt both to keep them together.

After a few weeks, we realized River does not get along with our two cats. We've managed to keep them separated for the majority of their life, but at our new house it has been very hard to keep the cats and dogs separate. River would be a better fit in a home as a single pet. Other than that, River is a major snuggle bug. She loves attention, laying out in the sun, and chasing squirrels. She is very good on a leash, and knows many commands. She is very food motivated, so treats are a must. She is crate/potty trained and perfectly healthy.
