My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello, darlings! I'm Princess, a 1.5-year-old Dalmatian mix with a name as sophisticated and lovely as I am. But don't let my regal title fool you-I'm just as happy romping in the play yard as I am basking in the sunshine. Sunbathing is my ultimate self-care routine, and a few treats make me feel even more pampered (hint, hint).

The paparazzi can't resist me-my doll-like brown eyes and stunning Dalmatian coat are always camera-ready. I'm also a social butterfly! I get along great with other dogs and even cats, so I'm ready to make friends in my new home. Stop by today and let me charm you in person. I can't wait to meet my adoring fans-you could be the royal companion I've been waiting for!

More about this shelter

Founded in 1941 by the third female graduate from Cornell University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, SAVE is an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit animal shelter dedicated to protecting the health and welfare of homeless companion animals in the greater Princeton area and beyond. Through six core programs of Rescue, Shelter, Health and Welfare, Spay/Neuter, Foster and Adoption.

The SAVE shelter facility has the capacity to house upwards of 100 animals at a time (approximately 75 cats and 25 dogs). The shelter exceeds no-kill benchmark standards and ensures that adoptable animals facing adversity are given a lifeline, a chance to flourish, and the promise of a better tomorrow.
