My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Looking for a cool cat to spice up your home? Meet Myrtle! Her adoption fee has been sponsored so she is now FREE to the right home!

Pros:
*Does okay with dogs after slow introductions
*Does okay with older cats after slow introductions
*Prefers older children who aren't as loud and scary and who can handle her play style
*Litter trained
*Loves to spend her days napping

Cons:
*Has some residual "single kitten" behaviors so her playstyle is fairly rough
*Has the cattitude of a Calico so takes a longer time to open up in a new and strange environment- would probably be most happy as an only pet
*Does not present well in the shelter as all of the sounds and smells are too much for her-- the sooner she can get out, the better

Do you think you could give Myrtle a quiet and peaceful home? Fill out our adoption application and if approved we will contact you within two days to set up a 30-minute meet-and-greet/adoption appointment.

More about this shelter

The Humane Society of Barron County is a non-profit, no-kill animal shelter serving Barron County and surrounding areas.

Established in 1978 by a small but dedicated group of core volunteers, the HSBC started out with these volunteers taking animals into their own homes and advertising the need for forever homes for these animals. Over the years, since this humble beginning the HSBC has grown into the organization that it is today. From the homes of volunteers, relying on fundraising and the generous donations of our community, we have grown into and remain in our home on Guy Avenue in Barron.

HSBC is operated by a small staff and relies heavily on volunteers, as well as funds from donations, adoptions, memberships and fundraisers to keep our doors open for the animals needing our assistance.

We sincerely thank you for making this possible.
