Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Grover came from a hoarding situation where 146 dogs were found to be living https://www.chicagotribune.com/2024/11/17/south-suburban-humane-society-steps-up-after-146-dogs-rescued-from-hoarder/
Because of his background Grover will need a special adopter that understands he will need a little more patience with housetraining, he may be a flight risk, he has some separation anxiety, and he is required to go to a home with another dog
If interested in meeting, reach out to alicia@southsuburbanhumane.org!

More about this shelter
The South Suburban Humane Society is a 501(c )(3) organization that was started in 1970, serving the animal welfare needs of the entire south suburbs of Chicago. In the beginning, we handled all rescues, adoptions and provided foster care out of private homes. Since November 1973, our organization has been operating a 10,000 square foot open-door animal shelter in Chicago Heights, Illinois.
For over fifty years, our organization has helped tens of thousands of animals. We offer extensive outreach programs including humane education, and community outreach events. We also operate a resale shop located in Steger, Illinois that promotes our organization, our animals and provide much needed income to support our humane work.
The Mission of the South Suburban Humane Society is to protect and promote the well being of pets and their people in our community and beyond.
