Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Miss Gemma! Most importantly, she is the happiest little dog I have EVER met-it was nearly impossible to grab a photo of her that she wasn't actively smiling in. Otherwise, it was that classic half-frown! This sweet girl is a little doll! She can't get enough lovins, kisses, wiggles, or playtime! She's also a fool for some good old-fashioned belly rubs!
At about 7 months old, she weighs in at around 15 pounds, and she's a bit of a hambone. We reckon she will hit that perfect in-between size where she can accompany you anywhere, everywhere, or nowhere, and she will be happy! It goes without saying JUST how adorable this sweet girl is, and how hilarious-seriously, her wiggles always make us laugh.
This girl loves her bones and her toys; they keep her nice and settled in her crate! She's as sweet as they come and quite the little love bug that will make a perfect addition to just about any home! ALL she is really looking for is a lap to cuddle in and hugs to get, quite honestly. I don't think there are many half-fluffy/half wire hair puppies around like her!
Gemma's most ideal day would include snuggles, then maybe a walk or some playtime, chasing you or another dog around, and then taking a long night's sleep. She is literally the perfect puppy! What could be better than a doggy-friendly, kitty-friendly, and kiddo-friendly sweetheart?!

More about this shelter
We are a non-profit organization out of Monticello, IA specializing in the care for dogs and cats that need us. Our care does not stay local, as we take transports from all over the United States, and adopt all over as well!
Our mission's primary focus is to help reduce the homeless pet population by finding homes for spayed/neutered pets, and helping educate WHY this process is so important, and the proper way to care for pets!
