Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Frenchie is a doll faced boy, with a yearning to fit into our weird human worlds, fortunately enough for him, he's doing wonderfully. Frenchie is definitely more of the introvert young boy, but it's not to say he's not the most outgoing with another pooch around! He does splendidly with them of all shapes, sizes, he doesn't mind; and he quickly becomes their little shadow. Then sooner or later, he becomes your little shadow, very curious to see what it is you're up to, even when it is absolutely nothing, then he's happy to rest his head in your hand for chin scratches, or in your lap to have his ears rubbed. Frenchie's favorite part of the day, every day, without fail, is when he's let into the lobby to socialize; and while he's super shy at first, treats and sweet talking always break him of his shell, and he's the wiggle butt we all know and love! Frenchie knows his basics, from crate-training, to commands; he's got it down! So we know he will do amazingly in most loving homes, but he will be searching for one that will help him flourish at his pace, but also guide him at the same time. Especially at his perfect size of about 40 pounds, at a little over a year old.

More about this shelter
We are a non-profit organization out of Monticello, IA specializing in the care for dogs and cats that need us. Our care does not stay local, as we take transports from all over the United States, and adopt all over as well!
Our mission's primary focus is to help reduce the homeless pet population by finding homes for spayed/neutered pets, and helping educate WHY this process is so important, and the proper way to care for pets!
