Name: Enzo
Nicknames: Lorenzo. Enzy Benzy. Enzo Benzo. Hulk.
Breed: Pug Mix..with what you may ask? who knows.
Age: ~2 years
Weight: ~42 lbs. A hefty and healthy beefcake.
Before OMD: Found as a stray, but owner was identified and then signed him over to the city shelter. Shortly after he became an OMD Rescue pup when a foster stepped up.
Reminds us of: A linebacker mixed with a sumo wrestler.
Also: Just give him a cigar, tophat, and a deck of cards for poker...
Energy Level: Low/medium. For a young guy, Enzo is chill. He loves his walks and is an extreme sniffer, wants to investigate everything and greet everyone. He is content to sleep and snore by your feet during the day, and side at night. Short bursts of hilarious energy are followed by peaceful, long snore sessions.
What we love most: His rolls. The size of his ginormous head, which is in proportion to the massive amounts of affection he is ready to give. His passion for snuggling and naps. His sweet, care-taking demeanor with his foster Pug brother. His can-do attitude – up for anything adventurer.
What he loves most: Foster mom. The corner of the couch pillows. Belly rubs. Cuddling. Car rides.
Need to know: Enzo is a resource guarder and needs an experienced (with a good sense of humor) adopter. He guards the more "traditional" things like his food bowl, bones, and toys but also the more non-traditional things like his beloved couch cushions and blankets. One time he guarded the refrigerator from his temp foster (insert joke about meeting our dieting goals…..who needs ozempic?). Enzo will thrive with boundaries, structure, routine, and continued training and management.
Kids: Nope. see above.
Dogs: He has met many dogs and done well. He does best with dogs his size and smaller.
Cats: Unknown
Housetrained: Yes
Crate trained: Yes, but will bark initially
Vet note: Enzo has been diagnosed with Pigmentary keratitis by an opthamologist. He has good vision, but is given daily eye drops and ointment and will need a follow up with an opthamologist in 2 months. Enzo is not a fan of vet exams and gets very spicy during close examination of his face so he does need to be sedated.
Enzo is vaccinated, neutered, had a dental/broker tooth removed, and microchipped. He is available for adoption to residents of CT and IL and their surrounding states. If you are interested in adopting, please complete an application from our website (in comments).
