Colt has come a long way since joining the rescue. Before his rescue, he lived in a crowded trailer home with 40 other dogs. When we first met him, he was so fearful that he would scream and potty when touched. But after just a month with us, Colt is gaining more confidence by the day! While he still gets nervous in new situations, with each outing, we see his tail go from tucked to wagging with joy. Colt is a social butterfly with other dogs and an absolute cuddle bug! He already knows how to sit on command, and his foster family is helping him learn to keep all four paws on the ground and not jump on people. He is potty trained, knows how to use a doggie door, and is kennel trained. Colt is nervous around small children so we are recommending if there are children in the home, that they are 13 year and older. Colt is 5 months old and currently weighs 25 lbs and is a Pit Bull, American Staffordshire Terrier, Pug, and Miniature American Shepherd mix. *Our adoption fees are as follows (paid by cash or a check made out to Rescue Row):
Dogs 12 weeks-6 months old: $300 adoption fee
Dogs 7 months and older: $275 adoption fee
Rescue Row is a 501(c)3 (non-profit) all volunteer dog rescue organization serving the DFW Metroplex. We are dedicated to rescuing dogs in shelters, dogs in abusive or neglectful situations, and dogs surrendered by their owners because of difficult circumstances. We place dogs in loving, responsible, committed permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process, which includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog into their homes and lives. Dogs in our care are spayed or neutered, microchipped, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in nurturing foster homes while they await placement in their permanent homes. We assist dogs in distress without regard to age, breed or ease of placement. Dogs in the greatest need take priority. Finally, we strive to work with shelters and other rescue and humane organizations to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to create a better world for homeless dogs.
