My name is Nessie!

Nessie is a one-year old, 9lb pound female chihuahua mix from Texas. 
She has adjusted very well during her time with her foster family in Brooklyn. 
Nessie enjoys exploring the neighborhood, meeting and greeting with other dogs, playing, and snuggling. She gives the most enthusiastic welcome home greetings ever. 
She is doing well with crate training and learning basic commands.

During her time with her foster family, she has mastered house training minus a few accidents. Nessie is working on her leash skills. She enjoys being outside and walking. She stops when she is curious or unsure, but she only needs a little encouragement to continue on. 

Nessie is a sweet, smart, playful, affectionate pup. Her forever family will need to continue working with basic training to reinforce and advance the progress she’s been making. 
Nessie has done well in her crate during the day and night. She is very quiet indoors and only barks when she wants another dog to play with her. 
She loves to be cozy with her foster family and can often be found curled up in her donut bed. 

Nessie is looking for a low key or medium active family. She appreciates downtime and active moments. She would do well with a doggie sibling or by herself. She does well with her canine foster brother and loves to play. 

Nessie does well with children. She still does puppy nips but is easily redirected to a chew toy.

Vaccinated for rabies, DHPP, and bordetella. Neutered, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.

We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the dog is on our website, they are still available.
