More about this shelter

Bethel Friends of Canines is a non-profit dog rescue based in the rural Alaskan village of Bethel. Not only do we rescue dogs in Bethel, but we also rescue dogs all over the Yukon Kuskokwim Delta region...that is a land area spanning nearly 75,000 square miles. (That is larger than 32 of the 50 states!) Bethel, as well as the Y-K Delta, is a roadless system. What does that mean? That means all our dogs are transported via airplanes, boats, snow machines, or ATVs. How many rescues can say that??

These are just a few of the many things that make BFK9 so unique. We are volunteer run and work hard everyday to help save and better the lives of dogs in our area. Thanks for visiting our page and supporting us!
