My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hiya frenzz! My name is Tula and here is some info about me:

PHYSICAL INFO:

  • Breed: Husky Mix

  • Age: 9 months

  • Gender: Female

  • Weight: 28 lbs (12.5 kgs)

  • Height: 50 cm (paws to top of my head)

  • Length: 65 cm (head to butt)

  • Current Location: Guadalajara, Mexico

RESCUE STORY - My family surrendered me to the vet when I was just 7 months old because they couldn't take good care of me. I was hungry and desperately needed some TLC! My skin was very itchy and needed serious help too. The vet took speical care of me and I was dewormed and had my skin fixed too! I was at the vet for about 2 months and now am looking for my furever home.

I have all my vaccines and I'm a happy, healthy girl. I loooove attention and sometimes bark if I want you to play with me. My fosters say I'm not a noisy dog at all but can bark when I'm playing or want your attention. I am used to being in my cozy kennel or carrier, where I am very well behaved. At home I try to be sooo good but because I'm still a puppy, when I get left alone I tend to get into mischief  :D

TEMPERAMENT -  I am an active, loving and sociable dog. My fosters say I am sweet, active and adventurous! I loooove having doggy friends and get along well with others, although I sometimes am excited with my pup energy and can get a little rough. But I can learn to be chill! I'm very intrigued by cats and am so very gentle as I like to be around them, even thouigh I don't get too close. I am a good girl around children, but due to my puppy energy, I can be somewhat abrupt without intention. But I want to be a well behaved lady with with some behaviour training.

ENERGY LEVEL - High

GETS ALONG WITH:

  • Kids – Unknown (no footage provided) but testing can be requested.

  • Dogs –  Yes! I can be a bit rough with my puppy energy but I live with multiple pups and do well with them.

  • Cats – Yes! I live with a cat now but I don't get too close, see here

PREY DRIVE - Unknown. I’m not too sure how I’ll react around squirrels/rabbits etc., so my adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise.

TRAINING:

  • Leash skills – Work in progress. Positive reinforcement will help me learn! I just want to bounce around and enjoy my walks hehe. You can see me walk here

  • House trained – Work in progress. I am still in the process of training to go potty in the yard.

  • Crate trained - I may need some additional training and patience.

  • Car rides - I may need some additional training and patience.

Please Note: WCP highly encourages adopters to do some research and training on their own before their dog arrives.

HEALTH NOTES:

  • I am spayed and vaccinated. I will come to Canada with proof of all my vaccines and test records.

  • NOTE: I have a scar from sterilization and another from a previous dermatological problem that is now completely resolved.

  • NOTE: dogs from Guadalajara are not microchipped.

  • NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work/cleaning after they are adopted. West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits. These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter.

ADOPTION FEE:

  • My adoption fee is $840.00 CAD ($750.00 + PST and GST), which includes my airfare, if a flight volunteer is found directly to Vancouver.
