My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sophisticated Sophie!

This gorgeous gal is ready for her furever home. Sophie arrived with her 6 babies. Now that her babies are thriving, she’s ready to start her future.

Sophie is very timid and can be anxious if left alone. A kennel is her safe place. She does great on a leash and could benefit from some walks to get her more socialized and comfortable with the world .

Once Sophie learns she’s in a safe place, she’s very snuggly. She will need a family who can be patient with her and allow her time to heal and learn to be a dog.

Sophie is 2 years old, spayed, microchipped and current on vaccines. She is a female dachshund/chihuahua mix. She gets along with all dogs, we are unsure of cats. Due to her timidness, perhaps a home with older children would be more comfortable to her.

Please complete an adoption application at www.pathwaysforpaws.com. If she fits your family and lifestyle, you will be contacted within 48 hours.

Additional adoption info

In some circumstances, meeting the dog and a home check are done at the same time if the dog is ready to be adopted. We do have conversation with potential adopters prior to them meeting the dog. If they are interested in adopting a puppy who is not ready for adoption (not altered, not UTD, etc) they are able to put a hold on the pup until ready for adoption.

More about this rescue

Pathways for Paws was founded in October 2019. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit, no-kill, animal welfare organization.

Our mission is to make spay/neuter & vaccinations affordable to those in our communities. By achieving this, we will help prevent the neglect & abuse of dogs. All dogs in our care are spay/neutered, given the age appropriate vaccinations and microchipped before going to their FURever families.

We work with rescues & fellow animal advocates to continue growing a network of volunteers and supporters.
