Meet Donald - a charming and affectionate 7-year-old, 15-lb Chihuahua mix whose world was forever changed when his beloved mom passed away. This sweet boy is now finding comfort in the care of Polka Dogz volunteers and the companionship of his furry friends. Donald is the "big brother" of his group, a natural leader with a warm heart. With his striking red coat and lovable personality, he’s always ready to be by your side. Donald enjoys snuggling on laps and showering people with kisses. When he’s not doing that, you’ll often find him carrying a toy around, patiently waiting for someone to join in the fun. This playful and loving pup is eager to find a forever home where he can share his endless affection and joy. Could you be the one to make Donald’s dreams come true?

PLEASE NOTE: All your current pets must be spayed/neutered, vaccinated and on heartworm prevention to adopt from Polka Dogz. We only adopt in Florida. All adoption fees go to help all the dogs in the rescue, some of which require extensive medical care. Thank you for caring for the greater good. FIRST step is to fill out a pre adoption application (www.polkadogz.org). We check vet references, personal references and do home visits before adopting any pet. We also help match the right pet to the right home. All current pets in household must be spayed/neutered and on heartworm prevention (very important)
Adoption fees help us support all the dogs in our rescue, some of which cost thousands in medical bills. Thank you for caring about the greater good!

More about this rescue

We strive to educate the public on responsible pet ownership. We rescue many dogs with heartworms, injuries nad those who have been victims of severe neglect and/or abuse. Maverick is a perfect example. He is paralyzed and we work daily with him to hopefully help him walk again.
