I am a very handsome fawn colored lowrider with light caramel above my eyes, a white star between my eyes and on my neck, a white belly, front white paws and I even have two different colored toenails on the same paw! I have the most perfect underbite with an errant snaggletooth that is pretty much always poking through, and my tongue is almost always sticking out of my mouth.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO EAT?
I love my kibble, but I won’t say no to peanut butter, Greek yogurt, blueberries, carrots, bananas, bell pepper….and did I mention peanut butter??
WHAT KIND OF PERSONALITY DO YOU HAVE?
I am curious about everything. If you’re doing something, I will be there to check it out and give my sniff of approval. I am very loving and really want to be included in all the events. If given the chance, I would spend a lot of my time sitting right on top of you because I love to cuddle! I can be very expressive vocally when I want to communicate with you. Foster mom says it’s whining, but I say I’m just making my opinions known!
DESCRIBE YOUR PERFECT DAY:
Most days start off as I wake from a long sleep all wrapped up like a burrito. When I decide to get up, it’s time for a potty break, then breakfast. After that, my foster dad and I go to work. We take a break every three hours so I can go for a little walk or to our yard to play. After work, we pile in the car and head to a nearby levee for a long walk, then come home to eat dinner. Nighttime is spent in the family room with my foster family either in my bed or on the couch with my foster mom for cuddles before bedtime.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TOY?
B-A-L-L-S!! I am crazy for BALLS! I have figured out that if someone wants me to give it up, they must trade me for it by giving me a treat! Pretty clever, huh? I also love to chew on a bone in the late afternoon!
DO YOU KNOW ANY TRICKS?
Yes! I know sit, out of the kitchen, wait, off, bed, crate. I will wait at the door until you say ‘’let’s go!” and I am learning good leash manners. I also wait at each crosswalk when I’m on a walk. I am a pretty young pup, so I am always learning new things, which can sometimes be tricky in itself! (Hey, you asked about tricks, right?)
WHAT SCARES YOU?
I am a small boy, so I don’t like it when people come over the top of my head to pet me. I am working on this, but please make sure people understand that to set me up for success when meeting new people. Once I am comfortable, head pets are just fine!
I’m also working on how not to be afraid when meeting new people. I’ve come a long way since I’ve been with my foster family and they have helped me to learn to trust new people. I’m also working with an awesome trainer named Sean who’s helping me work through these fears. My adopter will need to understand that I need to take things slooooow when meeting new folks. I’m so sweet once I get to know people, but I just don’t want to be rushed!
HAVE YOU BEEN AROUND CHILDREN?
Hmm… I think I will stick to adults only in my space, please. Thank you.
DO YOU LIKE CATS?
Yes! There are two cats in my foster home and I have no issues being with them! One of my kitty sisters comes on pack walks with us!
HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT OTHER DOGS?
I have a dog in my foster home and we get along great! Out on walks, I am learning to ignore other dogs and am doing well with this training.
IF YOU COULD BE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD IT BE?
Oh I think it would be so much fun to be riding shotgun in an RV touring the country to see all the national parks! I love car rides because that means we’re going on an adventure! If we can’t do that, I am just as happy to be by your side, playing ball, or sitting together, with me inching my way to your lap! It’s really all about hanging with my humans, no matter where that might be!
HOW IS YOUR HEALTH?
My health is good! I have a front leg that is a little wonky, but it doesn’t stop me from doing all the fun stuff! I love going on walks, but maybe I won’t be running any marathons, OK? But I can run really fast – just try to catch me! And you should see my zoomies! Epic!
WHO DO YOU LIVE WITH IN YOUR FOSTER HOME AND WHO IS YOUR CLOSEST COMPANION?
My favorite person is my human foster sister, because she takes me to her room when she’s doing homework, and we sit on her bed for hours together! I just melt when I am with her! I have a foster mom, dad, sister, brother, dog foster brother, and two kitty sisters.
WHERE DO YOU HANG OUT WHEN YOU ARE HOME ALONE?
There have only been a few times I’ve been alone, but I stay in my crate when my foster family goes out. I happily go into my crate with no issues! I’m a very good boy, right?
WHERE DO YOU SLEEP?
I sleep with my foster parents in their bed, with my foster dog brother, and sometimes even one of the cats! I do have a crate next to their bed, and sometimes they will put me in there for the night. I really want to be with humans as much as possible, so I whine for a few minutes, but then I drift off to sleep.
DO YOU LIKE WALKING ON A LEASH?
Yes, I have been working really hard to have better manners and I can’t wait to show you what a good boy I am! And just wait until you see my trot – it’s quite the sight to behold!
DO YOU HAVE ANY “NOT SO GREAT” HABITS THAT WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT?
When I get excited, I sometimes forget my manners. When we’re getting ready to go outside, I tend to get overly rambunctious with my foster dog brother. I am getting better at this, but there is still some work I continue to do. I mentioned I’m a young pup, right? There’s always work to be done to become the best I can be!
ARE YOU HOUSE TRAINED (DO YOU GO POTTY OUTSIDE)?
With consistency, I have learned to go potty outside. We do not have a backyard at my foster home, so I need to be taken out each time for a break, which is why we go out every three hours or so. If you show me where you want me to go and teach me to have a good routine, I will catch on quickly. Patience, please!
DO YOU LIKE WATER? DO I LIKE WATER??
Oh yeah, I LOVE it! It is so much fun playing with water from the hose! I also love when humans are in the shower and invite me in! This makes it really easy to bathe me! But I’m not built for large bodies of water, so if we go to a lake or other body of water, please make sure I am kept safe with a life vest!
WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR FOSTER FAMILY?
They have given me boundaries, support, love, and a calm setting. They are teaching me so many new things and I am doing the best I can to make them proud! It took almost two months before they got a tail wag, but now that happens all the time!
WHAT WAS YOUR LIFE LIKE BEFORE BEING BROUGHT INTO NORCAL BULLY BREED RESCUE?
Well, let’s just say it wasn’t the ideal living situation for a sensitive little guy like me. I was loved, but my previous humans were not able to take care of me. NorCal Bully Breed Rescue understood that I needed help and they took me in so I can find a loving home where I will thrive and enjoy the long, fabulous life that I was meant to live. I would love to come home with you so we can have all the fun times together forever!

If your dog is going to be spending anytime outside while you are at work or away from home, we ask that you have adequate shade or shelter from the elements.Before we schedule a home check, we may ask you to send us photos of your yard/fencing to get an idea of where the dog will be living. If you have any hesitation or questions about our yard check, please see our section on "How to Prepare for a Home Check."
The last step in the adoption process is the meet and greet. This is where we meet with you and any existing pets to ensure proper introductions are made. We want to make sure everyone gets along. Once all introductions are made, and everyone gets along, your rescue dog is yours to adopt.
Please note that there is no pressure involved, and if a situation that cannot be resolved arises, we will always take our dog back. Also, be aware that there is an acclimation period for each dog and every dog is different. It can take a few days or a few weeks for your new dogs to settle in. We will assist in any way possible, including referring our trainer to come work with you and the dog.

All of our dogs are rescues, meaning they have already needed help in some way, and will only go to homes where they will live a "CHARMED LIFE." All of our adoptive dogs will be indoor dogs with outdoor privileges. We believe that dogs are family members, and should be allowed to sleep indoors.The only time they should be kept outdoors is if the weather permits. Any applications looking for an outdoor only dog will be denied. All current pets in your home need to be spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and on heartworm preventive. Out of area adoptions are within reason and on a case-by-case basis.

Walk the perimeter of your yard. Take notes on the condition of your fence. Are there any loose boards or gaps under any sections of you fencing? If yes, these are easy fixes. You can nail any loose board back into place, and you can fill any gaps with pavers and gravel Do you have a lock on your gate? If not, please purchase one prior to your home check. Is there adequate shade or shelter for your new dog if it is going to be left outdoors while you're at work? Do you have anything hazardous in your yard, i.e. nails sticking out, chemicals left out, etc? Do you have a cat? If so, does your cat have a high spot it can retreat to if being chased? Are your garbage cans located somewhere near a gate where a dog can jump into them to get out? If so please move them. Please address these issues prior to our visit.

NorCal Bully Breed Rescue (NBBR) is an all volunteer, non-profit organization dedicated to helping needy animals in our community. While our focus is on "bully breeds," we don't discriminate and will very often help dogs of any breed, provided we have a foster home available. We take in dogs from local shelters with a focus on those with medical challenges and those whose behavior is declining due to the stress of the shelter environment. These are the dogs most often overlooked and in need of the most help.
NBBR is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, our tax ID # is 46-3665141. Your donations are fully tax deductible and fund our operations and help pay our vet expenses.
NBBR is dedicated to reducing the number of homeless pets through the spaying/neutering of all of our rescued dogs and through education on the importance of spaying/neutering all animals. We provide information on low cost or no cost spay/neuter clinics in our surrounding areas.
Each dog that comes to us has been temperament tested, updated on shots, spayed/neutered and microchipped. Many of our dogs have also been treated for various medical conditions including mange, heartworms, broken bones, neurological issues, and many others. One of our dogs can take anywhere from one month to one year to get ready for adoption and the cost for the dogs we take on can range from $100 to several thousand dollars. We take on dogs from shelters that are set to be euthanized for various reasons, including simply that they've been there too long, or they have a medical condition that precludes them from adoption to the public, making them "rescue only." This means only a rescue can pull them from the shelter, but also leaves us to be responsible for any costs to be incurred by said rescue dog.
We also take on strays and incur the cost of having them vaccinated, spayed, neutered and microchipped. We will help dogs who owners can no longer provide care by networking their dog, provided the owner can continue to house the dog. We insure a safe house for all of the dogs that we take on and provide all needed supplies for the foster homes that care for them until they are to be adopted. We also insure that they never end up in a shelter, running the risk of being euthanized due to lack of space or due to becoming "aggressive" caused by the stress of being in a shelter environment.

This means only a rescue can pull them from the shelter, but also leaves us to be responsible for any costs to be incurred by said rescue dog.
We also take on strays and incur the cost of having them vaccinated, spayed, neutered and microchipped. We will help dogs who owners can no longer provide care by networking their dog, provided the owner can continue to house the dog. We insure a safe house for all of the dogs that we take on and provide all needed supplies for the foster homes that care for them until they are to be adopted. We also insure that they never end up in a shelter, running the risk of being euthanized due to lack of space or due to becoming "aggressive" caused by the stress of being in a shelter environment.
