My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

CALI is a beautiful and smart, female calico kitten, 7 months in age. She is playful, loving, and curious. CALI loves to explore new places. She enjoys climbing, and playing with her toys and friends. CALI is a very good eater and uses the litter box perfectly. She loves being cuddled and held. CALI is an affectionate lover baby. She will make a wonderful companion to anyone looking for a loving and special kitten.

If you are not located near our rescue or if the drive is a problem for you, please still apply, as we bring animals out to as far as San Diego in order to bring them to their forever homes. Currently, we are driving animals far out on an as-needed basis!

If an animal is posted, they are VERY likely available. Please fill out an adoption app to get the best chance at being considered rather than contacting directly.

If you are interested in adopting and think you can provide a great home for this pet, please complete an online application so that we can better assess if this pet is a good match for you and your family. Once that is complete and we've approved your application, we can set up a time for you to meet your potential companion for life!

Go meet their pets

Some adoptable pets can be found at our shelter in Rowland Heights, California. Our address is 19142 E Walnut Dr N. Others are fostered in home environments throughout California. Visiting pets are by appointment and only after an application has been filled out. We are willing to drive or meet between locations, even if it means a 2 1/2 hour drive. Our main goal is to find our animals the best possible forever home.

More about this rescue

Volunteers in Defense of Animals (VIDA) is a 501c3 and consists of a small group of volunteers and a network of foster homes. We help find homes for homeless dogs and cats, care and protect neglected and abused animals. We are working to end the suffering and mistreatment of dogs and cats in Southern California. We bring spay and neuter services to areas where families cannot afford them; we facilitate the rescue, foster care, and adoption of animals whenever possible, and we offer education and support to those involved in the care of animals.
