My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Beavis, a Rare and Spirited Orange Tabby!

Beavis is an 8-week-old short-haired female orange tabby with a striking white chest and the cutest white paws. Female orange tabbies are rare, so she's truly one of a kind!

Beavis is full of personality-independent, energetic, and not afraid to let you know how she feels! If she's feeling a bit lonely, she'll make it clear with her adorable, expressive meows. When she's happy, her loud purrs are a joy to hear.

Though Beavis has been well-socialized with children, other cats, and even a large dog, she's a kitten who likes her personal space. She doesn't enjoy being picked up but loves interacting on her own terms, making her the perfect match for a home that will respect her boundaries and let her vibrant personality shine.

If you're looking for a playful, vocal companion who is as unique as she is adorable, Beavis might be just the kitten for you!

Beavis is looking for a foster-to-adopt home in the Nanaimo area while she awaits her spay date. She is looking for an indoor-only home to stay safe and warm in furrrever and always!

The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst
