How I Arrived At NHS: I was found in someone`s engine, luckily unharmed. I had hitched a ride all the way from Henriette, MN - that is how I got my name. I was still very young so I went into a foster home to hang out until I was old enough.
Notes from my foster mom: Henriette is a quirky girl who is not your average cat that will likely settle into her new home quickly but she will eventually relax and feel at home. She came into her foster home a little spicy and wasn`t used to people at all. It took some time for her to adjust and it actually helped when she spent time with the cats in the house. She is more comfortable with other cats and LOVES my adult male who she can be seen cuddling with quite a bit (or wrestling with). She really is the happiest around other cats/kittens although she can play rough with smaller kittens. Henriette took awhile to feel comfortable with people touching her and she doesn`t trust being picked up but we are working on that. She enjoys getting pet and will sometimes come and snuggle in right next to you at bedtime but then sometimes she can get nervous when you are petting her head and will swat at you although not aggressively. (Did I mention she`s quirky?) A few months ago, she developed an unusual gait in her back legs which doesn`t affect her ability to walk, run or jump and it has been checked out by a few vets who can`t really explain why she has it. It could be CH (wobble cat) that showed up a little later? At one time, we thought that she would be happier being a barn cat so someone tried it and it wasn`t a good fit. I know she`ll be likely harder to get adopted because she`s not your normal cat, but she is great company for your cat and she does like to hang out around you. She is a sweet girl with a tiny little cry when she wants something and some beautiful eyes. She will just need lots of extra adjustment time to feel comfortable in her new home.
Good With Kids: possibly but might need a slow introduction Good With Cats: yes, would be with other cats/kittens Good With Dogs: unknown but possibly with a slow introduction
Cats are feline leukemia/feline immunodeficiency virus tested (if applicable), if there is a litter, one in the litter is tested or the queen is tested. They have had at least their first distemper combo (booster given if been in our care for the appropriate time), been de-wormed, microchipped, and treated with a flea and tick product (i
