My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Lovey was brought in by Humane Law Enforcement .

Why Lovey might be the one for you:
Check out Lovey's beautiful light blue eyes. So pretty. Then, check out her one white ear and one black ear. Nice. Finally, the white tip on her black tail and you will see all of lovely Lovey. Lovey has had some ups and downs in her living situation and wants badly to have caring owners who will treat her with love and respect. She will need space because she is a big dog who sometimes gets the zoomies. Lovey usually has a stuffed toy in her mouth. She takes her toy on walks, she sleeps with it in her mouth. And, yes they often need to be replaced as she loses them or shreds them. She will like frequent walks with her caring people where she can meander along, sniffing any and all along the way while carrying her toy. She is easy to leash and take on walks. She will do best in a single pet household with adults who are savvy dog people. She has already shown that she can overcome difficult circumstances but she is ready to relax and settle into a quiet home where she can receive the love and care she deserves. Do you want to give this blue eyed beauty an opportunity to live the good life? If so, come to meet the lovely Lovey at our San Diego campus. She will be the one with a stuffed toy in her mouth as she waits to meet you.

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
