My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Introducing Salsa, a kitten who's got just the right mix of spice and sweetness! At first, she might be a little shy, but don't worry-once she's comfortable, she'll be the life of the party with her gentle purrs and soft head bumps. Salsa may take a little time to warm up, but like a well-mixed dip, she'll gradually add just the right amount of flavor to your home. She loves to curl up in cozy spots and quietly observe, but with patience, Salsa will slowly simmer into your heart. If you're looking for a quiet, reserved companion to stir up some affection in your life, Salsa is the perfect little saucy kitten to bring home. Are you ready to spice up your world with Salsa?

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
