My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Toby is a 1-year-old Doberman Pinscher mix with a striking black, white, and tan coat. Energetic and treat-motivated, he’s a playful and curious pup ready to be your adventure buddy. Whether it’s playing fetch, exploring the park, or zooming around the yard, Toby is always up for some fun.

He’s still working on his leash manners and can pull when excited, but he’s improving daily with positive reinforcement. A quick learner, Toby already knows “sit” and is eager to master more commands. While he can be a bit jumpy during exciting moments, he settles down with guidance and treats.

Toby loves meeting new people and is calm with other dogs at a distance. Though sensitive to touch and prone to overstimulation at times, he’s learning to relax and enjoy attention. He thrives in a structured environment with plenty of opportunities to bond and grow. If you’re looking for a smart, energetic companion, Toby is ready to bring lots of love and playfulness into your life!

More about this shelter

Founded in 1868, The SF SPCA is a community-supported nonprofit dedicated to saving, protecting and caring for cats and dogs. We do this through immediate care of animals that are homeless, ill or in need of an advocate, but we also work to educate the community, reduce the number of unwanted kittens and puppies through spaying/neutering, and improve the quality of life for animals and their companions.
