My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Pawsey is sweet, calm, and is pretty content to just have a soft place to sleep and a home to call his own. He is two years old, 60 pounds, but we anticipate some weight gain now that he is in a foster home. He is even more stunning in person.

Pawsey gets along great with other dogs. He has been gentle around kids and we think he might even be cat friendly. Based on preliminary cat testing, he has the potential of co-exiting with feline friends and we can walk you through how to successfully integrate a dog into a home with cats.

In general, Pawsey is on the low-energy side. He is easy to leash, easy to walk, and just about easy to handle in every setting. He enjoys human affection. He will stand still and let you brush him all over!

Pawsey is a gem. He is the perfect balance of looks, temperament, friendliness, and smarts.

Submit Application

We are 100% volunteer/foster based, so we do ask that you complete an adoption application in order for us to schedule a phone interview.

2.
Interview

After reviewing your application, we'll contact you to determine if dog is a good fit for your lifestyle and home.

3.
Approve Application

We check vet and personal references to ensure previous dogs were well cared for, so please be thorough in providing this info.

4.
Home Check

This enables the dog to get to know you and your home and for us to suggest anything they may need to be successful in your home.

5.
Sign Adoption Contract

You would also pay the fee at this time, however, we offer a 2 week trial period before cashing your check. We will always take dogs back.

You will be asked to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/dh-adoption) and allow a home visit to ensure the pet is a good fit for your home/lifestyle.

We are primarily a placement service, so the adoption fees vary depending on each pet and what caretakers have invested medically and behaviorally to ensure they are adoption-ready.

We do not have a shelter, so please understand that we are only able to support animals with foster homes or donations toward short-term boarding.

More about this rescue

Doggie Harmony is a metro-Atlanta dog rescue group focused on finding the right homes for dogs in foster care or belonging to owners who wish to re-home them. Our core objective is to place these dogs before they are turned over to animal control facilities, where they may be euthanized. Lastly, Doggie Harmony supports spay/neuter, wellness, and training to help keep or place dogs. This includes helping people find low cost resources and/or lending financial support where there's a qualified need.
