My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Shayla,

This sweet girl came to us through dog control so we don't know a ton about her history. Shayla is looking for her retirement home where she can live out her golden years in luxury. This is what her foster has to say about her:

"She's super sweet! She can be a little cautious with new people, but once she warms up to you she is like you're little shadow. Shyla is super snuggly too. When you come home or when it's food time she bounces around like a puppy and gets so excited!"

If this sweet senior could be the one for you please a online Dog Pre-Adoption Questionnaire at:

https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/dog-pre-adoption-questionnaire/

As Shyla is currently in foster, a pre adoption questionnaire needs to be filled out for us to book a meet and greet.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort
