My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I’m Junipyr!

I’m a 64lb bundle of fluff and fun at a mere 1.5 years old, and if you’re not already prepared for my snuggles, zoomies, and 10pm bark fests, now’s your chance to run... just kidding (but seriously, get ready)! I’m a full-throttle Pyr with a heart of gold, and while I’m pretty easy to look at with my floofy coat and endearing face, I also come with a sprinkle of mischief and a whole lot of personality. I’m a Great Pyrenees through and through, which means I’m equal parts adorable, independent, and likely to act like I can’t hear you when I’m focused on guarding the backyard against squirrels, leaves falling, and even those pesky crickets a few miles away.

If you’re an avid follower of the Fluffy Butts(and really, who isn’t?), you might recognize me! I was welcomed into the Pyr Paws N Fluffy Tails Fluffy Butt Program back in November with my brother Aspyn(who is still happily adopted with his family). We were quite the duo—fluff for days, ready to conquer the world. I was adopted in January, but life happens, and my humans recently realized they couldn’t give me the attention and space I deserve, so here I am again, ready for my next big adventure!

Now listen up, humans: my foster tells me I'm basically the perfect mix of party animal and chill buddy. I could play with my doggie friends ALL DAY LONG—it’s my absolute favorite thing in the world! I’m what you’d call “happy-go-lucky,” full of energy and ready to zoom around at a moment’s notice. But don’t worry, I’m not a Tasmanian devil all the time. When I’ve had a good outdoor romp and let out all that playful energy, I turn into a relaxed, calm cuddlebug inside. I’ll happily nap on the couch or chew on my toys. I’m super well-mannered and respectful, which means I could totally be a therapy dog or even make appearances at retirement homes or schools. I’m a perfect balance—playful outside, calm inside—and I would do best with another doggie playmate or someone who can keep up with my energetic side. If I’ve already had my playtime outside, I’m more than happy to chill out inside and give you my best Pyr smile as I relax.

Now, let’s talk about car rides. Oh, I love them! I’m a professional road tripper—hopping right into the car like it's my personal chariot. Once I’m in, I’ll settle down in the seat like the perfect co-pilot, sometimes sitting up to gaze out the window (don’t mind me, just soaking in all the world’s beauty). But if it's a chill vibe, I’ll happily just lie down and enjoy the ride. As for outings? I’m totally up for adventures! Whether it’s hitting up a café, browsing the pet store, or socializing with friends, I’m all in. People are awesome, and I’m excited to make new friends—though I have to admit, I get a bit rowdier when my people come home, like it’s my personal parade. But don’t worry, when I meet new people, I’m calm, cool, and collected. At the vet, I was an absolute angel—letting a lady pet me without a single attempt at a jump or silly antics. On the leash? I’ve got it down. I’m not one of those wild dogs trying to pull your arm off or trip you up. I’ll happily walk alongside you, keeping it calm and classy. And if you're more of a homebody? No worries, I’m totally okay with that, too. I can just hang out, relax, and enjoy your company from the comfort of the couch.

Let’s talk about my ideal squad, shall we? First off, I love other dogs. They’re my jam, my ride-or-die play buddies, and honestly, I thrive with a canine partner-in-crime. Being an only dog? No thanks, that sounds way too quiet for my taste. I need a furry friend to wrestle with, chase around, and share secret doggy jokes about the humans. Cats? Oh, I’m cool with them too! In fact, I’m so chill that I’ll even let them cuddle up with me. Yep, this fluff is open for all species of snuggles. And kids? Bring them on! I do great with kids, especially the ones who know how to give a good belly rub or sneak me an extra treat now and then. I’m gentle, sweet, and totally up for being their fluffy confidant.

Okay, let’s get a few things straight. First off, I’m not exactly an apartment-dwelling kind of gal. I mean, I’m a Great Pyrenees—fluff for days and a personality to match. I need my space to roam, stretch out, and defend my territory from any squirrels that might dare to get too close. So, a big backyard or open space is ideal for me. But don’t worry, I’m totally potty trained—so no accidents around the house, I promise! As for kennels, I used to be kennel trained, but now that I’ve been living it up with my foster family, we haven’t really needed one. I’m generally good when left to roam the house. Speaking of the house, yes, I do get on the couch. It’s comfy, and frankly, I’m too cute to resist cuddling. I’m not a chewer or a digger—so no worries about random holes in the yard or furniture chewing. Oh, and when it comes to barking, well, I’m a "Guardian Mode Level 3" kind of gal. I mostly bark when I’m out on patrol, making sure the yard is free of intruders. It’s a tough job, but someone’s gotta do it! So, yes, I can be trusted to roam the house while you’re out, and I promise to keep everything in order... unless, of course, I see an intruder (ahem, a squirrel).

Listen, I’m not here for a “until something happens” type of situation. I want to be your forever dog, the one you can count on through thick and thin. I’m not the dog you adopt and then return when life gets a little busy or when you realize I’m not a tiny purse-sized dog (shocking, I know). I’m not gonna be the dog you only keep until you get too tired or something more exciting comes up. Nope. I’m looking for someone who wants to stick with me, even when the going gets tough. So if you’re in this for the long haul—the daily snuggles, the adventures, the walks, and the fluff everywhere—I’m all in.

So what happens next? Well, I would hope that you would submit an adoption app for me. You can find the app on the rescue's website, message them for it, or find it in the comments below.

I am being fostered in ✨Oklahoma City, OK✨ so if you live outside the area..no worries. Just be prepared to pack for a road trip because this rescue doesn't send us on transports. So, both they and I will be expecting you to come pick me up. And what better way to start the bonding process than with a road trip?!

Alright, future forever family, it’s time for me to fluff up my tail, strike my best Pyr pose, and say goodbye for now.
Paws and fluff,
Junipyr
